Youth urged to stand up for the unborn

YOUNG Catholics have been urged to get active and stand up for the unborn by a pro-life advocate who worked for the largest abortion provider in the United States.

Abby Johnson urged those gathered at Faith on Tap last Monday to spread the message about the horror of abortion.

“It’s the only way we are going to win this,” she said.

Abby’s life was changed on October 6, 2009.

That was the day she resigned from the largest abortion corporation in the nation – Planned Parenthood.

Abby worked and volunteered for Planned Parenthood for eight years.

In September 2009, she saw something that forever changed her mind about abortion.

Abby was asked to assist in an ultrasound guided abortion.

On the ultrasound screen she saw a 13-week baby in the womb fight for its life – only to lose the battle.

Since her departure from Planned Parenthood, Abby has been sharing her story and motivating others to continue the pro-life fight.

“I’m proud to tell people I work full-time in a pro-life movement. I dedicate my life to saving the unborn,” she said.

“I stand up for the sanctity of all human life.”

Abby told the young people gathered somebody was waiting to hear the message of life from them.

“You need to be proud to take your pro-life conviction out there (society),” she said.

“It doesn’t matter if you are pro-life in your home, it matters outside, it matters to the people you talk to.

“It matters to the people you talk to who are apathetic to the issue.”
Abby said you couldn’t have a “luke-warm” attitude to abortion as many Christians did.

“This attitude won’t stop until people hear the truth,” she said.

“How are they doing to her the truth? They are going to hear it from us.”
