FOR one day, St Columban’s College Chapel, Caboolture will be transformed into a formal fashion shopping destination.

The first St Vincent de Formal event on Saturday March 7, from 9am to 4pm will feature hundreds of outfits and accessories for sale – all priced under $50.

“At past events, people have been blown away by the incredible range of styles, sizes and options, describing the event as ‘a dream’,” St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland schools engagement officer Kate Everlyn said.

The initiative was becoming a go-to for school formals, weddings, charity balls and special occasions.

Following the success of the 2025 St Vincent de Formal events in Maroochydore and Maryborough, the event is finally heading to Caboolture by popular demand.

The next events will be in Hervey Bay in April and the Sunshine Coast in May.

“What started as a simple idea has grown into one of the most uplifting community events that our staff and volunteers are proud and excited to host each year,” Ms Everlyn said.

On offer will be more than 1000 new and pre-loved gowns and 500 suits.

In addition, shoppers will be treated to formal shoes, evening bags, jewellery, ties, waistcoats and hats.

Each purchase will support Vinnies’ community programs.

The collection on sale has been donated from supporters across the region including formalwear boutique Belle Le Chic and online dress rental store TheOnlyDress.

“St Vincent de Formal is making sure every young person gets to walk into their formal feeling extraordinary and make a sustainable choice they’re proud of,” Ms Everlyn said.
