THE life of All Hallows student Caitlin Donohue was celebrated at St Stephen’s Cathedral on Tuesday June 25 – a few hundred metres away from the spot where here life was cut short in tragic traffic accident.
Caitlin, 15, and two friends were struck by a car as they crossed Elizabeth St on June 20.
Caitlin died a short time later, but her friends Chloe Middleton and Jessica Wissa suffered minor injuries.
Hundreds gathered at the cathedral to pay tribute to the life of a special young woman whose died so suddenly.
In his homily, St Stephen’s Cathedral dean Fr Ken Howell said everyone carried a heavy burden because of this tragedy.
All Hallows’ principal, Lee-Anne Perry, said the thoughts and prayers of all in the All Hallows’ school community went out to Caitlin’s parents, Michelle and Jack, other family members and friends at this difficult time.
Ms Perry said Caitlin had attended All Hallows since Year 8 and was a much-loved member of the school community.
“We also ask for prayers for Jessica and Chloe and their families,” she said.
