Youth Group Plays It Cool

TO herald the end of summer, members and friends of St Peter’s Youth Group, Rochedale made the most of the sun and took to the slides at Wet ‘n’ Wild water park near the Gold Coast.

Dozens of young people and adults from St Peter’s trooped through the gates of the park on February 4 for a day filled with water, sun and fun, not to mention the big queues leading to most of the rides.

St Peter’s youth co-ordinator Liz Meulman said she was very happy with the number of young people who attended.

“We had a number of successful car washes and that brought the price down for a lot of the youth group members,” she said.

After almost a week of steady rain, and grey, foreboding skies, the sun came out in full force.

Spectacular performances were witnessed on rides such as the “Twister”, the Aqua Racer speed slides and at “Mammoth Falls”, Wet ‘n’ Wild’s newest attraction which had six people at a time flying down a curving slide in a rubber tyre and landing with a huge splash at the bottom.
