YOUTH 2000, an international spiritual movement for young people aged from 13-30, will hold its first festival in Sydney from October 5-7.
The festival at St Mary’s Cathedral College Hall will include workshops, group and individual prayer, testimonies and live music sessions.
The cost to attend the three-day event is $40.
The festival will use prayer, discussions, music and faith sharing to inspire young people to embrace Jesus and the Church in the new millennium.
Lunch and dinner will be provided on the Saturday, as well as tea, coffee, cold drinks, fruit and snacks throughout the event.
A young Englishman, Ernest Williams, founded Youth 2000 when he was inspired by the words of Pope John Paul at World Youth Day in Santiago de Compostella in 1989.
More than 6000 young people from America, Germany, Scotland, Ireland and England attended the first Youth 2000 festival in 1990.
Festivals have been held in Canada, Poland, France, Uganda and the Caribbean.
Youth 2000 was launched in Australia in August 1999.
