IN a first, the Challenge girls have headed out with the Conquest boys on Brisbane’s southside.
On February 26 almost 50 primary school-aged students went bowling with their leaders to socialise and enjoy the company of their Catholic friends.
“It was a little crazy to begin with,” leader Kristin Roe said.
“… Having both Conquest and Challenge there together … and trying to get into teams and shoes organised was a bit of a challenge.
“However once everyone was sorted out it was a great night.”
The next “joint challenge” will be in August – an Olympic Games night.
Conquest boys are headed rock climbing soon and currently have four male leaders.
The Challenge girls have six young female leaders. They are groups for Catholic boys and girls.
Challenge began first in Brisbane’s south deanery as “more than a youth group” with a mix of social and spiritual initiatives.
Conquest has only recently begun and is proving popular among the young men who are post-sacramental age.
