BRISBANE archdiocese’s Parish Youth Ministry Services will hold the second in a series of Hands on Help training days at the end of this month to look at ways of involving young people in the Mass.
A vibrant, energetic liturgy is often what young people are attracted to. The training day will be an opportunity to tap into the skills and experience of the people taking part, to find new and creative ways for vibrant liturgy in the parishes.
Following on from the first Hands on Help – Starting a Youth Group, the day will provide participants with practical ideas and strategies to include young people in the planning and ministries of the parish liturgy.
It will also give people taking part a chance to network and hear wisdom about young people and liturgy.
Drawing on the knowledge and experience of past and present youth ministry workers and liturgists, everyone who attends Hands on Help will be given an easy to use practical information booklet that will assist in taking the information back to their own communities.
The information booklet will look at a broad range of topics including promoting full and active participation in the liturgy and using creative elements.
Hands on Help – Involving Young People in the Mass, will be held at the O’Shea Centre, Wilston, from 9am-1pm. Bookings must be made before May 26.
The cost for the day is $15 per person or $10 per person for bookings of five or more people.
