MILES parish in Toowoomba diocese welcomed a visiting National Evangelisation Team (NET) for four days in late April.
The young team shared stories of ‘good news’ with other young people and took religious education classes at the local high school on one of the mornings.
They returned to the classroom during lunchtime to chat with students interested in what the team was doing.
After school the team met with young people at Mary MacKillop Hall.
Parishioners provided dinner after the sessions and invited parents from out of town to join in.
Parishioner Laurie Harbort said the team also joined parishioners, young and old, for a sausage sizzle the next day.
Ms Harbort said the visitors were brimming with enthusiastic love for God.
‘They shared this love by word and example among our Catholic youth and their friends from both primary and secondary schools, their parents and and interested parishioners,’ she said.
‘We all enjoyed the presence of these modern-day disciples and the message of hope in the Lord that they brought us.’
