THE 10th annual Movers and Shakers youth leadership training program, hosted by Queensland Catholic Diocesan Youth Co-ordinators (QCDYC), was held at Peregian Beach on the Sunshine Coast from April 17-22.
Despite the move to a new location this year, the largest number of people ever participated in the program.
Again this year, Greg Smith, who has facilitated Movers and Shakers for about five years, organised the activities and leadership theory during the week.
Greg said Movers and Shakers, as a leadership training program, focused on young adults who were working in a school or parish setting.
“Throughout the week we worked on building a temporary community,” he said.
“We chose to use games and activities because as Plato once said, ‘you can learn more about somebody in an hour of play than in a lifetime of conversation’.”
