AUSTRALIAN Catholic University’s (ACU) Brisbane campus recently hosted a visit by renowned speaker and evangelist John Pridmore.
Mr Pridmore, once a serious London gangster involved in various crime syndicates, found faith and now dedicates his life to serving God, travelling the world to share his story and help others.
His inspirational testimonial focuses on his life, and how finding God helped him to become a better man.
“I didn’t wake up one day and decide to be evil, it’s a slow progression, saying no to all the good, and yes to all the bad,” Mr Pridmore said.
“To my shame, I was involved in a lot of criminal activity and one night, I struck a man and thought I’d killed him.
“That night, back at my flat, I was thinking about what I’d become when I heard the voice of God in my heart and I started to turn my life around.”
John has written three books which have featured on several bestseller list, and he appears regularly at conferences and events such as World Youth Day.
Through discovering religion, John said he has finally felt true happiness.
“When I was a gangster I had money, drugs, girls, cars and power – but I always felt empty and unfulfilled,” he said.
“It is only through God, and His love for me, that I have been able to find happiness and fulfilment.”
