FOR all those eager World Youth Day pilgrims or anyone curious about last year’s great youth event, the time has come to relive or sample the experience.
The documentary crew from fig productions that travelled with the World Youth Day pilgrims has compiled Believers, a feature-length documentary about the pilgrim journey from Israel to Rome last August.
The documentary is in two parts, one covering the pilgrimage to the Holy Land, the other covering the celebrations in Rome, at Vatican City and Tor Vergata University.
Seventy young people from Brisbane joined 300 young Australians for this trip of a lifetime.
For 20 days and nights, the film crew travelled with the young pilgrims, dragging their camera and sound equipment across three continents and spending five months after the event editing the footage for final production.
Believers will be shown for one night only at 7.15pm on Monday, April 23 at the Palace Centro Cinema, 39 James St, Fortitude Valley.
Archbishop John Bathersby is graciously supporting the premiere screening.
Directed by Shona Cox from fig productions and produced by Harvest Pilgrimages, admission is free and anyone is welcome to attend.
