ON August 1, about 70 young Queenslanders will leave with Archbishop John Bathersby of Brisbane on a pilgrimage to World Youth Day 2000 in Rome.
Leading up to this special event, in coming weeks “New Generation” will introduce some of the pilgrims.

Why are you going on the World Youth Day pilgrimage? -To deepen my understanding of my faith and to experience it in the most “real” environment possible. Also to expand and grow my faith.
What are you most looking forward to? -Trying to sink in the Dead Sea! Experiencing and following in the footsteps of the Lord who has guided my faith and life for 20 years.
What are you hoping to do when you return from the pilgrimage? -Sleep – first and foremost! I’m hoping to find time to join my parish council to allow me to relay my experiences and ideas from World Youth Day.
What are you most anxious about? -Nothing
What is one thing you are taking that you think no one else will pack? -My late grandmother’s rosary beads from Ireland.
