PARTICIPATING in the Iona Passion Play is addictive.
The play is in its 50th year, and Donna Longland of Brisbane’s World Youth Day Secretariat has joined the ranks for the 15th time.
“I find it to be very rewarding and it is a major part of my preparation for Easter,” she said.
She and thousands of others are busy preparing for two performances on March 14 and 16 at Iona College, Wynnum West, in Brisbane’s east.
They will also venture to Easterfest in Toowoomba for a Good Friday presentation.
Donna said organisers encourage others who “desire to bring alive the message of Easter” to join the cast.
“Previous acting experience isn’t required, just a willingness to take direction and have some fun,” she said.
Many hands are also required behind the scenes.
Rehearsals for this year’s performances will continue every Sunday from 1-4.30pm and interest can be registered by phoning Donna on (07) 3336 9434 or contacting info@ipp.org.au
“It’s an ideal way for the whole family to take part in the Passion of Christ,” she said.
