EDMUND Rice Camps (ERC) in Brisbane ran three traditional camps and one indigenous family camp for disadvantaged children, families and young people during January.
The camps were held in the Sunshine Coast region at Kenilworth Homestead, Tuchekoi Outdoor Centre and Currimundi Recreation Centre.
The camps catered for children aged 7-15 who are referred from agency groups such as St Vincent de Paul, the Department of Families, Youth and Community Care, Department of Health, Accommodation Support Services and neighbourhood centres in the community.
Brisbane camps co-ordinator Johanna Archibald said the camps had been very successful.
Three camps are scheduled for the June/July school holidays.
