WITH a boost in parish numbers within St Catherine’s, Wishart, a new ministry to families has been launched called Friday Night ALIVE!

Desiring to “embrace young children, teenagers, parents and parishioners,” the first gathering on November 9 drew a crowd of 80.

“The night started with the families enjoying time together playing games of Twister, bowling, foosball, table tennis and air hockey as well as craft and crazy science experiments,” organiser Jaye Barros said.

Dinner was served in the courtyard, with many parishioners coming along to cook and serve.

“The young people from (Years 1-12) then stayed on to hear and share Bible stories and messages through games, challenges … prayer and age group activities,” Jaye said.

One young person said, “It was good to hang out with other young people my own age, with the same values and beliefs.”

Friday Night ALIVE! will continue next year on a regular basis.

For more details contact Jaye Barros on 0418 454 516.
