MORE than 200 participants from around Australia converged on Ballarat Grammar School in Victoria for the 10th biennial Marist National Justice Festival last month.
The festival, from January 6-10, was for young people aged 17-30 who wanted to come together and explore the links between their life, faith and social justice issues.
The theme for this year’s festival was ‘Don’t Start Me Talking’ and featured guests included former Governor-General Sir William Deane and Bishop Eugene Hurley of Port Pirie.
The five-day festival included workshops, guest speaker presentations and the opportunity for participants to share personal stories.
Marist Young Adult Ministry co-ordinator, Br Tony Clark said there was a good national representation.
Br Clark said a large number of participants were sponsored by their school, parish or organisations such as St Vincent de Paul.
