Anniversary: Imagine provides women living in Brisbane the chance to encounter Christ and transform their communities.

BRISBANE Catholic women’s movement Imagine celebrated their first anniversary last month.

Lead by a team of six young Catholic women, Imagine provides women living in Brisbane the chance to encounter Christ and transform their communities.

Many of the women involved in Imagine are young stay-at-home mums, full time career women and students.

Their challenge for all women is to “live with an outward focus” and find ways to bless others.

Each month, young women meet either to pray and reflect on the Word of God at Encounter Nights, or to support Catholic mission organisations around the world through Service Nights.

So far this year, Imagine have raised money to support a Catholic lay apostolate that saves young girls from child prostitution, and a Philippino-based mission to find homes for street children.

This year the six leaders will be holding a women’s only workshop titled If Only She Knew at this year’s Ignite Conference.

Each of the six leaders will also be leading their own individual workshops throughout the Conference.

Mother of two and Imagine team member Megan Hayes looks after the Imagine website, which has been a vital new tool for the movement.

Women who can’t attend the monthly events can visit the website for regular updates, quotes, and weekly inspirations.

“We are so blessed by how God is moving and just trying to respond to where He is taking us,” Mrs Hayes said.

The next Encounter Night will be on October 3 at 7pm with special guest, Catholic lay evangelist Jan Heath.
