THE Missionaries of God’s Love held a one-day retreat for 25 young people aged 18-35 at St Mary Magdalene Church, Bardon on September 7.
The retreat, presented by Missionaries of God’s Love Father Tony Schick and Br Ben Roberts included talks on the love and power of God, teachings on loving and following Jesus, music and prayer, a BYO lunch and a vigil Mass.
The theme for the day, ‘Go all the Way’, was an invitation to join Jesus on the road to paradise.
One of those who attended the retreat, Brendan Godard, 33, said he gained much from the day.
‘It was absolutely fantastic,’ he said.
‘It really brought all my past spirituality together. I have so much more sense of direction.’
For 23 year-old Gwen Venglua, the day was a great experience.
She said the day had strengthened her faith and inspired her.
‘Fr Tony and Br Ben showed me how to give myself totally to God.
They brought God’s love to me.’
The Missionaries of God’s Love is an Australian order of priests, brothers and sisters founded by Fr Ken Barker in 1986.
