CATHOLIC students from Uralla, Armidale and Inverell travelled to Sydney to join more than 50 other young people for a youth camp during the school holidays.
Camp Joshua, a discipleship training camp designed for young people aged 15 and above and conducted by the Servants of Jesus Community, was held from July 5-9.
The camp provided young people with a chance to get in touch with God and his will for their lives.
The days were spent listening to talks and personal testimonies, taking part in small group discussions, worship, singing, personal prayer and sporting endeavours.
Each activity was aimed at fostering teamwork, leadership and spiritual growth.
Armidale/Uralla youth group leader Maureen Locke said the aim of Camp Joshua was to equip the young people so that they were more able to stand in faith, honouring the life and words of Jesus.
‘Youth today are facing challenges that other generations have not had to deal with,’ she said.
‘God is calling this young generation to live a life worth living – a life that will make a difference for eternity.’
She said reports from the 15 young people who attended the camp were all positive.
