“PACKED to overflowing” was the way St Ignatius’ Church, Toowong, was described when Brisbane West Deanery came together for its first Youth Mass for 2011.
Brisbane West Deanery projects officer Michael Doherty said every parish of the deanery was represented and actively participated.
“Young people from each of the seven parishes of Brisbane West were involved in the entrance procession and each of the ministries at Mass,” he said.
“Young ladies from Stuartholme School contributed to the singing and participated in a beautiful liturgical movement at the preparation of the gifts.”
Toowong parish priest Jesuit Father Peter Quin presided at the Mass, and a “mini trivia night” followed.
Next Friday night (May 27) young people are invited to gather in St Thomas Aquinas’ Church, St Lucia, for a night of adoration led by Brisbane West Dean Fr Gerry Kalinowski.
Michael said a “chocolate delight supper” would follow.
