A GROUP of teenagers gathered at the Frederick Marsden Youth Centre in Kallangur, north of Brisbane, for the annual Emmanuel Youth Group Camp from April 8-10.
The young people had fun and adventures as they discovered ways to be a ‘Warrior for Christ’, the theme for this year’s camp.
The camp, which was open to all high school students was a chance to get away for a weekend, hang with other teenagers, and get into faith more.
Camp organiser Nicky Garland said the young campers had a good time getting in touch with their faith and each other.
‘We had a really fun time and even though it was raining most of the time we were up there we always found something to do,’ she said.
She said each member of the youth group stepped up to the challenges put before them during the camp, which included trust games, thought-provoking talks and writing affirmations.
The major highlight of the camp was the Saturday night, when the young campers had the opportunity to take part in praise and worship as well as being prayed with by the camp leaders.
Nicky said the camp had been a great opportunity to kick off the year for the youth group.
