BURPENGARY teenager Peter Gatti headed to Zero Gravity in mid-January on the Sunshine Coast and returned changed.
“Before the camp I didn’t really care about having God in my life,” he said.
“I hated going to Mass (and) was the guy sitting up the front who just stood there and complained.”
The decision to head to Emmanuel Community’s school holiday retreat themed “Access all areas” brought about the change.
“At first in the sessions I didn’t really listen or sing along with the music (and) at the worship session I felt like I didn’t want to be there,” Peter said.
“(But) at the end I got the feeling that God was talking to me (and) in that moment I found God.”
Peter said the experience has prompted him to “follow and go” wherever God leads.
“Not only did I pray more and I read the bible for a while to which I had never really cared to do before,” he said.
“Not only that I find that I am nicer to people in general.
“I have also realised that God can help me with some the problems in my life.”
The teenager also committed to being more attentive at Mass and even giving any “spare money to the Church”.
“I have learnt more about God and myself,” Peter said.
“Things that I hated I like and I feel that God is helping me mature.
“Anyone who is questioning their faith should go on the Zero Gravity camp next year or to one of their other events like Fuel, Voltage or Ignite.
“They can all change who you are for the better.”
