FORTY young people from parishes in North Country Deanery gathered at Hervey Bay on December 4.
Young people travelled from Kingaroy, Nanango, Childers and Maryborough to take part in games, a swim at the beach, a lunchtime barbecue and an afternoon Mass celebrated by North Country dean Fr Pat Cassidy of Kingaroy-Nanango.
Hervey Bay parish youth co-ordinator Carmel Donnelly and the parish youth ministry team hosted the day as a way of building connections between Catholic youth in the region.
The youth team is planning to continue building relationships through future activities, including a weekend camp at Redcliffe in May.
