THE University of Queensland’s Newman Society will run its annual orientation camp from February 15-17.

The camp, to be held at the Luther Heights Youth Camp, Coolum on the Sunshine Coast, is for students starting their studies at institutions around Brisbane including the University of Queensland, Griffith University, Queensland University of Technology and Australian Catholic University.

The aim of the O Camp is to offer new students the opportunity of meeting other Catholic students and joining in the activities of these groups on their own campuses.

Participants will enjoy a weekend with other like-minded students and will have a chance to make friends and pick up useful information about starting university.

Returning students are also welcome to attend the camp and contribute their experiences from 2001.The cost for the two-night camp is $55 each, payable to the Newman Society. Transport is also available.

Numbers must be finalised by February 11.

Those interested in attending the O Camp are invited to contact University of Queensland chaplain Fr Ian Howells on (07) 3365 6656, Nicholas Rynne on (07) 3848 3843 or Elizabeth Blinco on (07) 3396 1041.
