The Catholic Loop – Today’s news headlines for the busy Catholic | January 20, 2015

  1. Pope Francis reaffirmed the Church’s teaching on contraception and marriage in interviews, speeches and Homilies from his visit to the Philippines.
  2. Thousands marched through Los Angeles to speak up about the dignity of human life, including Hollywood actor and director Eduardo Verastegui.
  3. Iraq’s prelate has implored Islamic leaders to support “dismantling” radical Jihadist ideology.
  4. Representatives from the Lutheran Church and the Catholic Church will host an ecumenical event in 2016.
  5. And the US Supreme Court will make a decision on same-sex marriage as early as June following an agreement to hear four cases from states that prohibit same-sex marriage.
