EACH year on All Souls’ Day we are called to remember all the faithful departed who have gone before us.
It is a special time of prayer for the souls of loved ones and friends who have left us for now but who we will meet again one day.
Grief for our departed loved ones is a natural emotion. What we often forget is that they probably have found greater happiness in their new realm than we could possibly experience on earth.
All Christians live in the hope that they will have eternal life with God. It is a comfort to us during our earth-bound lives.
All Souls’ Day gives us an opportunity to remember and pray for the wonderful people who we have encountered in our lifetime – and to remember that they will be waiting for us, along with God, when our time comes.
