“GO home to your tinpot, Mussolini-concocted principality and don’t come back.”
Those words were directed at Pope Benedict XVI by Richard Dawkins during the Pontiff’s state visit to Britain this month.
Dawkins is a sad and sorry figure, besotted with hate for theism and especially for Catholicism.
The ferocity of his obsessed enmity reflects irrationality.
But he is to be pitied rather than damned, for he is a man obviously requiring and deserving help.
Richard Dawkins would find the idea totally repugnant, but he is in dire need of the prayers of all people of goodwill.
As Christians we should not fail him.
