Voice in the wilderness

THE Catholic Church has been vocal on a number of fronts in recent weeks.

It has spoken out on such critical issues as industrial relations, the RU486 abortion drug, anti-terror laws and capital punishment.

These are issues that affect every Australian, and yet some people have howled down the Church for interfering in matters that should not be its concern.

Any issue that seeks to destroy or disadvantage one of God’s creations is of major concern to the Church.

The Church’s voice needs to be heard and heeded as a moral and just compass in today’s world.
