“THE tempest tossed Church all our eyes are on you (Mother of the Church)” is a line taken from an old hymn to Our Lady.
It would seem that the Church is more than tempest tossed today and where is Our Lady in this spiritual battle?
At Fatima (approved by the Church), Our Lady told the world (especially Catholics) through three young children – two now canonised – pray the Rosary every day, especially the family Rosary, and to offer prayer, penance and sacrifice.
If you are a husband and wife living your Catholic faith and bringing your children up to know and love God, you are living your prayer, penance and sacrifice, and by this example you are, as Archbishop Mark Coleridge recommended in The Catholic Leader (November 25), setting a wonderful example not only for other families but for all other Catholics, our separated brethren, and, most importantly, for governments.
There is no doubt that in this sad situation we find in the Church today Our Lady, Mother of the Church, has to be more involved, especially for Catholics.
Pray the Rosary before the Blessed Sacrament, if possible the family Rosary, and private Rosaries, living your Catholic faith minute by minute.
Many older Catholics would know about “the true devotion to Mary”, to Jesus through Mary.
I am all yours, my Queen and my Mother, and all that I have is yours, and the Lord will be able to calm the Church much sooner.
