THE TV session on the treatment of cattle in Indonesia was shocking and I could only watch the initial stages of it, before switching it off.
It was too cruel for my liking.
I then compared it to the treatment of our own unborn babies in Australian abortion clinics. Similar cruelty – different species.
Are we, as a country not one of extreme contradictions and profound hypocrisy?
It seems like some people vocal in their demands for a ban on live trading of cattle are also the ones that can be just as vocal in baying for the blood of more babies and abortions up to the point of birth.
We have parties in government and elsewhere that are only too quick in promoting those demands.
If we had some bans on these abortion practices, we could at least claim some moral high ground.
