Suspicious of same-sex lobby

THE campaign by homosexual lobby groups and the mainstream media, in support of so-called same-sex “marriage” should be taken seriously.

However, the story by Bruce Ryan (Centrepoint, CL 4/9/11) while containing a number of worthwhile comments, was weak in some departments, such as his claim “the Church is sympathetic to same-sex couples, who wish to seal their commitment to one another in marriage”. That is news to me.

Since when has the Church been “sympathetic” to homosexual acts?

He questioned a number of the “future” consequences of same-sex “marriage”.

Some of his examples are seriously in operation already in parts of the world, such as teaching (read indoctrinating) children in school on homosexuality.

In England, well run Catholic adoption centres have been forced to close their doors, rather than succumb to handing over vulnerable children to homosexual couples for adoption.

There are sure to be some in the community, of the opinion that they are fed up with discussion on the issue, why not give in to their demands and let that be the end of it?

No – that would be the beginning of it.

None of these leftist causes have an end.

I have heard that a majority of homosexuals are not really interested in “marriage”.

In my opinion, the major reason (among many) for the activists’ campaign is the destruction of Christianity in general and the Catholic Church in particular.

Once homosexual “marriage” became law, priests and other clergy would be obliged under pain of fines or subsequent jail terms to go through the motions of performing the “ceremonies”.

Bruce Ryan mentions this as a possibility.

I believe it would be a probability.
