Sad Legacy of IVF

Science is concerned with making new discoveries, but it frequently forgets about the consequences of these discoveries.

The increasing number of unwanted frozen human embryos in storage around the world is a case in point.

The scientists who led the way in IVF treatment years ago probably did not foresee such a problem.

It is a sad legacy of their work that the future of thousands of God’s children face either being destroyed or being ‘adopted’ out to be born by someone other than their natural mother.

Either scenario is morally problematic.
