THE row over Centacare being awarded part of a Federal Government contract to provide counselling to women who are troubled by an unplanned pregnancy is completely uncalled for.
Centacare is a reputable agency of the Catholic Church whose record is beyond reproach.
The protests over Centacare’s success were instigated by pro-abortion groups which were displaying a “sour grapes” attitude to missing out on the contract.
The whole point of the Federal Government’s initiative is to reduce the almost 100,000 abortions every year.
If the Government had given the contract to so-called “pro-choice” (pro-abortion) groups then that would have been an outrage.
