CATHOLIC schools have a long tradition of educating the Church’s poorest families.
However, today in Australia, they are just as likely to be educating both the poorest and the richest families, as well as children who come from a variety of faiths.
Catholic schools are as much a part of this multicultural society as any other area of Australian life.
To remain relevant they must be prepared to adapt while continuing to uphold the traditions of the Catholic faith that they were founded to instil.
As long as this is the case Catholic schools are destined to remain a vital part of the Australian fabric of life.
