AT a time when natural disasters at home and in New Zealand have been drawing heavily on our compassion, we find ourselves in Lent – a season when we’re asked to give a little more than we usually do.
But, if we are in a position to be able to give to Project Compassion this Lent (Page 1), then we are the privileged ones. And if we can keep on giving, we will be better off and so will the world.
One of the volunteers who has been busy helping the people affected by the tragic flood in the Lockyer Valley summed it up well when she said: “I don’t really know why, but the more I do, the better I feel.”
That seems a good attitude to take into Lent.
