THE battle lines are clearly drawn in what must be one of the most contentious issues facing society – abortion.
On one side are organisations like GetUp! saying it’s a woman’s right to choose what she does with her body and prosecuting the case for states to decriminalise abortion.
On the other are those such as Cherish Life Queensland, the Australian Family Association and Protect Life reminding the community that the rights of the unborn child must also be factored in.
It’s an emotive debate as can be seen with today’s page 1 story with both sides accusing the other of resorting to deceptive behaviour. Perhaps though the community’s ultimate response is already being resolved in a most obvious way in homes across the nation.
Puzzled? Just check out the ultrasound images of the unborn held by magnets to many a family fridge and you’ll get the picture. Hopefully, those supporting abortion right up to the moment of birth may also be thus enlightened.
