SO our federal election is to be fought over the bodies of dead babies?
The Prime Minister’s Women for Gillard campaign confirmed this.
All because Tony Abbott once expressed “unease” over Australia’s abortion toll of 100,000?
Julia Gillard’s honesty is already questionable without resorting to the scare tactic that Tony Abbott, if elected, would clamp down on abortion.
Medicare funding aside, abortion legislation is a state issue.
She says she “doesn’t want to live in an Australia where abortion becomes the political plaything of men who think they know better”.
Give us a break Prime Minister. By its very nature, abortion is “political”.
Since it involves the taking of a human life, like capital punishment, it involves parliamentary legislation.
And who passes legislation? Politicians.
She could probably afford to live elsewhere.
But right now, women outside her sisterhood, have to stay and tolerate the killing.
What is bizarre about this campaign, is that in the face of all the evidence that abortion is so harmful to women, a female Prime Minister and this little band of women, remain stuck in the last century.
That Julia Gillard thinks abortion “good enough” for any woman is frankly depressing.
