Patron for 21st Century

AUSTRALIA has been under the patronage of Mary Help of Christians for more 150 years.

Devotions to her have ensured she has guided and protected us through many trials, including a number of battles and civil unrest off our northern shores, and the road to nationhood and an independent place in the world.

In more recent times, devotions to the Virgin Mary have ebbed among many Catholics, but she has always been, and still is, there for us.

As Australia celebrates the Centenary of Federation, it is opportune for us to also renew and revitalise our devotions to Mary Help of Christians.

May she accompany and guide us through the challenges that we may face in the 21st century.

Mary Help of Christians pray for Australia.
