PETER Phillips (CL 22/6/08) claims there is a scriptural basis for the Church’s position on the ordination of women.
I was wondering if he could quote a text to support this and secondly if it was meant for all time.
And if, as Peter Phillips says, Jesus would never deprive women of the practical recognition of full equality in his Church then why does he (Peter Phillips) deny it.
As for the holy women he mentions, Catherine of Siena et al., none of these were ever ordained and they were only ever made Doctors of the Church well after their lifetime.
