AS we celebrate Mission Sunday, it is helpful to read about the lives and work of people personally involved in missionary work around the world (pages 13-18).
One story that particularly drew my attention was the one by Canossian Sister Melissa Dwyer, of Brisbane, who writes a heartfelt account of her first 10 months in Malawi, Africa (page 15).
She gives great insight into the struggle of a young missionary dealing with the harsh reality of the most dire poverty in the world, and how God is her strength.
Such stories bring home to us how we are called to support these efforts made on behalf of the Church.
