MASS For You At Home has been broadcast by Network Ten on Sundays at 6am since 1971.
Recently on the Southern Cross Network Ten, beamed from Coffs Harbour, the 6am Sunday-morning program has been replaced by an Afro-American religious program Creflo Dollar Ministries without any explanation to hundreds of viewers across the region.
Despite my best endeavours to obtain the reason for the program change, I have been unable to speak to any person from the Network Ten program department.
For 41 years Network Ten has given thousands of people across Australia the opportunity to participate in a Sunday Mass from their home or nursing home.
Most viewers are isolated from the usual parish activities due to age, distance, illness or imprisonment and have become dependent on this very important television program.
I pen this letter to The Catholic Leader trusting that someone from the Catholic Enquiry Centre or a diocesan media person may be able to contact Network Ten requesting that this long-established important religious program be restored.
