WHEN I read the cover page story (CL 25/5/08), of how the group from the Newman Society members have been treated by the student union council, I ask myself why is this council so afraid of the truth being aired?
I feel that the council should be compelled to read the story of Lisa Demedio told on the back page of the same issue to see the untold misery caused by abortions.
Does the council believe that abortions are of no harm? Then, by their actions, because of their misguided beliefs about abortions, are we being told that abortions are being carried out for the betterment of the mother and society?
What do they think a foetus is?
Do they see this as an illness that needs medical treatment or do they see it as being something alien and should be treated as such?
If this is this the case, then aren’t they lucky to have parents who delivered and cared for them?
Because the foetus is only in the development stage, this does not mean it is not human and therefore should be destroyed so that others do not have to care for a child given by God.
