FIRSTLY, a big “thank you” to those who contributed to the fundraising efforts initiated by Jenny Davies to ensure a Cherish Life Queensland representative (myself) attended the World Congress of Families in Amsterdam on August 10-12.
The congress was very worthwhile and a great networking opportunity with other pro-life and pro-family groups, not to mention the educative aspect in regards to what is happening around the world in this area.
The AFA (Australian Family Association) is keen to put in a proposal to bring the congress to Australia in 2013.
Cherish Life Queensland would be fully supportive of this proposal, and having seen how it is organised, will now be more valuably equipped to help achieve this and we ask for your continued prayers for this goal (God willing).
Secondly, I would like to thank The Catholic Leader for their ongoing support of the work being done by Cherish Life Queensland, particularly for running the article about Leon Stark (page 5, CL 23/8/09) who kindly offered to run the Bridge to Brisbane (August 30) to raise funds to ensure every school student receives a “Precious Feet” pin when I do school presentations.
Finally, a big “thank you” to Leon who will have sweated it out on the run by the time you read this.
Many hearts will be touched and many lives saved due to showing young people the reality of life in the womb with these real-life replicas of a 10-week-old babe in the womb.
TERESA MARTIN
State President,
Cherish Life Queensland
