IT is encouraging that prominent Church figures have been invited to participate in Prime Minister Kevin Rudd’s 2020 Summit.
At least the Church will have a voice as leading Australians from all walks of life discuss the nation’s long-term priorities.
Many of the issues that have concerned the Church – the plight of indigenous people, climate change, matters relating to the sanctity of life, workplace reform – all fall under at least one of the summit’s 10 “critical areas”.
