THE East Timorese need justice to resume their lives after the recent violence that has again thrown the island into disarray.
This justice can only occur through intervention by an independent body such as the United Nations.
The planned inquiry into the unrest needs to begin swiftly and act decisively.
Justice needs to be done and it must be seen to be done.
Only then will the East Timorese feel confident enough to take their young nation into their own hands and accept a united future.
