IT is not unusual for Christians to be ridiculed in secular society for their beliefs.
Muslims are now facing the same sorts of insults.
As Christians we vehemently speak out against attempts to disrespect or insult God.
We should therefore understand how Muslims feel when similar ridicule is made of their spiritual leader, Mohammed.
What we as Christians cannot accept is the physical violence undertaken by some of those followers who have felt insulted.
There are ways of making a protest. Violence leads to deeper divisions in society and cannot be justified as a form of protest.
