EXACTLY two months after the terrorist attack on America, the world is still coming to grips with the legacy of the wanton death and destruction.
The shock waves have reverberated and are now being felt by the people of Afghanistan. They are just as much innocent victims as those who were killed when the twin towers of the World Trade Centre collapsed and the walls of the Pentagon were hit.
It is shameful that in each case the people who are suffering the most have not been part of the campaign of hate that is being waged by both sides in this conflict.
Australians have an opportunity to support the search for peace through humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan. They are not our enemies, they are our brothers and sisters.
