Indignities of the detention system

FIRST we heard about women in immigration detention centres raising children behind razor wire.

Then we heard about two Australian women who had been deported through a bureaucratic blunder.

Now comes the revelation that in some cases they are facing the indignity of taking showers or going to the toilet while male prison officers are watching.

When will the full extent of the indignity of detention be exposed in a thorough inquiry?

There are too many instances of people being denied full human rights in the immigration detention system.
