Holy Spirit’s choice

MANY will have been surprised by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger’s election as Pope.

His reputation precedes him, and yet very few of the people who have dubbed him a hardliner really know the man.

It has to be remembered that Pope Benedict XVI has been chosen by the cardinals with the help of the Holy Spirit.

And the Spirit moves in mysterious ways.

We pray for this ‘humble worker in God’s vineyard’ (as Pope Benedict calls himself) to be guided in his new mission and we trust in his leadership for however long God chooses.
