THE tragedy of having one boy dead and another behind bars after a schoolyard incident is one that no school is prepared to face.
St Patricks’ College, Shorncliffe, has felt that cruel blow and is still recovering.
The way it has faced and continues to deal with that shock and grief is a credit to the strength of its community spirit and Christian faith.
The care and compassion displayed at St Patrick’s is what good Catholic schools are all about.
We thank God for the grace he has given to people like principal Dr Michael Carroll, chaplain Fr Liam Horsfall, teachers, parents and students in the face of such tragedy.
